LOCAL FOREIGNER
IN LAYERS
In 2015, Local Foreigner appeared as a reflection of the confused socio-political climate surrounding ideas of locality and foreignness.
Local Foreigner is interested in the potency of life; its tensions, intensity and resonance. To further enquire into our human condition.
Local Foreigner's overarching desire is to transform the way we relate to each other & ourselves, towards less oppressed & violent relationships.
ROSA POSTLETHWAITE
COMPOSED (extended)
Rosa draws on her experience as a master of ceremonies and an arts organisation employee to examine the relationship between a spokesman (sic) and their institution. This project of self-reflection and industry critique deals with apologetic addresses, revved-up entrepreneurial spiel and whether or not your asking for it.
Composed is made up of a series of theatre rituals: an in-house announcement, a thank you to the sponsors, a warm-up act... Composed (the extended version) expands the performance score across time to further explore each of these planned actions.
SIMONE SIMONE & EROS
FACTORY LEGENDS
Eros and Simone Simone are Warholian superstars and Factory legends. Together they floated through the rarefied fog of the New York counter-culture, from legendary happenings to the back tables of Max's Kansas City. They mixed with luminaries of the scene and are remembered in the flickering celluloid of many of Andy's most celebrated films.
Over the decades since they have become relied upon as key authorities on that seminal period, as well as for their fascinating insights into the workings of the maverick that was Andy Warhol. They have been widely sought on everything from documentary films to art biennial panel discussions.
SARA ZALTASH
APPROACHES TO EMBODIED ISLAM - DEEP LEARNING

Sara Zaltash (b. 1985) is a British-Iranian artist and Schumacher Institute Fellow, working with live action, song, sound, community, ritual, conceptual enquiry, magic and the divine in order to evolve reality. Sara’s work has been supported by British Council, Arts Council of England, Month of Performance Art Berlin, Glastonbury Festival, Southbank, Bristol City Council, Glasgow City Council and University of Bristol, among many others.
“Zaltash is electrifying… See her if you can.” The Guardian.
LISE BOUCON
EAT ME (OR THE DREAM OF A FEAST)
Welcome! Welcome to my feast. Please, take a seat. And please be patient, very patient. My feast takes time. Time for celebration, time for rejoicing, for joy we devour. We are waiting for the guests, but they are late in coming, or come some unexpected, with horns. And slowly, gently, they rise to the assault…
The ritual is in progress. The feast begins…
EAT ME…
I would like his piece being an allegory of the wish of disappearance, from a non-appropriate body/identity/society, in order to reborn to oneself…
Lise Boucon is a body-based performance artist of the extraordinary and extreme. Introspective and intriguing, she’s following a personal thread questioning mainly the social impact on the body
BEN MILLS
IN BAD FAITH: A REFUSAL TO ACCEPT THE ABSURD
Ben for some of the time is a baker and the rest of the time an artist. He gets by, but he has never really been well off.
Ben feels guilty that he is a lazy person. He wallows around at home perpetuating a self-fulfilling loop. Is he useful, does he need to be useful; does he need to feel useful? From a lack of knowing what to do, he is here having made a performance. In the Performance, he is laying in a substantial amount of bread dough and firing spitballs at a ceiling until it creates some kind of, stalactite. When people get close enough a security light will light up the action, when they leave the light will go off.
NICHOLAS TEE

MOA JOHANSSON
MOJO QUEEN
Queen Mojo is a tactically tacky, decidedly decadent, ntz ntz-being who appears in dark dingy basements and queer club contexts; Thorny (Bristol), Duckie (London) and Mensch Meier (Berlin) to mention a few. She feeds on disrupting spaces and dancing on tables, always accompanied by her mirrorball. Functioning as an act of resistance queen mojo does things for (her) pleasure and uses celebration of femme as a tool for dismantling a power structure coded as male.
All hail Queen Mojo! she makes them cry, all hail Queen Mojo!
TONI LEWIS

I am the future. is a performance lecture that seeks (ambitiously) to rectify the damage caused by Marco Pierre White during his 2013 Knorr Campaign; exploring groundbreaking biology and genetics research we will collectively measure the socio-economic and psychological impact of interspecies hybridity.

Gina Bubble-Gum
AGE OF THE.
Gina Bubble-Gum aka Golden Daze aka Sister Mary Cannonlicker of the unholy and incomparable Nun the Less is here to make some art. It’s going to be great art, high art, serious art like you’ve never seen.
Gina is a bit of a twat but she puts on a good show and is here with something to say even if she hasn’t quite figured it out yet. Ms Daze, her alter ego, escaped her Stepford Wives, Mad Men marriage after poisoning her husband, has gone feral and may appear, slowly lurking in the shadows. And lastly, Sister Mary, the revered sister of revelry will be here to take us somewhere much hotter and wetter than heaven or hell.
This is somewhere between drag, cabaret, live art and stupid fuckery.
